An
image of a Pakistani Rs 10,000 note is showing up on social media, claiming
that the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) is preparing to launch a higher
denomination bank note.

The
local currency situation in Pakistan is already critical and with these rumors
sparking a debate about the parity of the local currency against the global
currency, there are some key points that prove all the claims to be wrong.
The
name of the governor written on the image of the 10 thousand rupees Pakistani bank note circulating on social media is Yasin Anwar, who served as the 17th
governor of the State Bank from 19 October 2011 to 31 January 2014, 12 years
ago today.
It
should be noted that any new note issued by the Central Bank bears the name of
the current Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan.

State Bank official through a news agency advised the general public not to
listen to such rumors and check the authenticity of any news related to the
bank notes on the State Bank's official website and its social media accounts.
The
Rs 10,000 note fake news was also spread in 2018.
